THOREN
CAGING SYSTEMS, Inc.
Thoren Caging Systems, Inc. is the successor to
Thoren Industries, who pioneered the development of warm surface

Maxi-Miser Positive Individually Ventilated System (PIV) in conjunction
with The Jackson Laboratory in 1978.
PIV
Technology
Maxi-Miser Positive Individually Ventilated (PIV) Caging
System was developed by Thoren Caging Systems in conjunction
with The Jackson Laboratory in 1978. This truly unique system
not only supplies air directly into each cage, it also exhausts
spent air, animal odors, dander, and feed dust directly from each
cage. The system maintains a superior micro-environment in each
individual cage and at the same time provides a cleaner work environment
for allergy sensitive staff members.
Maxi-Miser
Change Station is a unique unit capable of protecting
the cage occupant from contaminated room air. It also protects
staff members from airborn impurities contained in the cages.
The unit creates an air “barrier” at the work space
opening, while allowing low velocity Class 100 air to wash the
entire work area.
